Value-Driven & Passionate Learners

From the facilities to the faculty, International School Bangkok (ISB) provides students with a diverse range of courses and electives that allow students to pursue their interests and explore their passions in a meaningful way. Through outstanding teaching and learning in a nurturing environment, ISB inspires students to achieve their academic and personal potential and become passionate, reflective learners.

As our students develop their passions, they have the opportunity to choose two possible pathways to graduation - with each pathway offering many choices in order to design an individualized education for each student. Our High School provides students with all the tools for success they might need through two high school diploma pathways: the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma pathway and the Personal Choice Diploma pathway.

Both pathways lead our students to succeed not only through university studies but beyond their academic years. As Ralph Waldo Emerson said: “Life is a journey, not a destination” and ISB ensures that students have the opportunity to pursue their own individual journey to success. But what might this look like on the IB Diploma Pathway?

What Does the IB Pathway to Graduation Look Like?

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme is a two-year-long assessed program for students aged 16 to 19 and is highly respected by leading universities across the globe.

The IB Diploma Programme aims to teach students to ask challenging questions in order to develop a wide and deep understanding and knowledge of the world around them. The IB curriculum cultivates community and life skills through the Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) requirement, thinking skills through the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course, and writing skills through the Extended Essay (EE).

The IB structure of study allows students to choose three higher-level subjects and three standard-level subjects with six total subjects of study in the 11th and 12th grades. Although this 2-year course is rigorous, our students have continued to set the bar high and demonstrate academic excellence.

Continued Excellence in IB Performance

The class of 2022 demonstrated the continual success of the IB at ISB with a passing rate of 98%. Additionally, the average ISB IB Diploma score was 36.1 while the world average was 32 out of a total of 45 points. Our students’ remarkable achievements in the IB granted them acceptance to renowned universities around the world such as New York University, the University of Hong Kong, the University of Manchester, Waseda University, Stanford University, Les Roches, and many more.

Students at ISB benefit from a plethora of technological resources, dedicated counselors, and top-tier faculty who help guide students as they undertake projects, manage their course load,  and volunteer and participate in extracurricular activities. These resources and guides enable our students to develop learner agency, set effective goals and reach their full potential in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and beyond.
