ISB Opens the Largest Indoor Golf Facility in Thailand

Golf has always been an important sport for International School Bangkok (ISB). The ISB Golf Team consistently does well in international tournaments and ISB has a number of alumni that have gone on to see great success in the international golfing circuit. ISB Alumni golfers such as Thanya “Nex” Pattamakijsakul (Class of 2013), Thachakorn “Jade” Tanitnon (Class of 2008), and Nattcha “Patty” Treevichapan (Class of 2015) were all top varsity golfers while attending ISB, moved on to achieve golfing success in university, and have now moved on to the  professional golfing ranks.

Supporting Student Learning through purpose-built facilities

ISB's campus is purpose-built to ensure that it allows for balance and excellence. We want students to be able to explore a wide range of subjects, activities and sports and we want them to be able to excel in their area of passion. Having the facilities to make this possible is important. 

Golf is one of ISB's pathway sports where students are able to learn across all age groups and compete against other international schools in Southeast Asia in the IASAS tournaments.

Noting the lack of facilities in Bangkok to support young, aspiring golfers is what inspired ISB’s latest addition to their facilities, with the ISB Golf Center, located just across the road from the ISB campus in Nichada Thani.

Well-equipped for Measurable Learning

The new Golf Centre at ISB is the largest and most well-equipped indoor golf facility in Thailand. Some of the facilities include:

• Six fully equipped bays: Each bay has GC Hawk Launch monitors, as well as Swing Catalyst swing software. This allows trainers to track all ball flight data as well as record all golf swings. There is also Swing Catalyst Force Plate to measure ground forces during golf swings.
• A large putting green: Including Puttview software and hardware that transforms the putting green into an interactive learning environment.
• A 200sqm chipping green: Here you’ll find various slopes and breaks to practice and GCQuad Launch Monitors for analysis.

This equipment allows one to analyze, measure and find areas for improvement for all golfers.

Experience and Staffing

The golfing experience offered at the center starts with greetings from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Checking-in is computerized for ease of use allowing members access to all the facilities from early morning to late evening. Members can book practice hours and/or golf lessons either in the hitting bays or on the chipping/putting greens. 

All staff at the golf center are PGA qualified and are trained to the highest standards through the Golf Center’s own Professional Training Program. Our ISB alumnus, Jade Taniton, has also joined the staff, as an Associate Golf Instructor.

Programs for ISB students

Maybe the most exciting aspect of the Golf Centre are the programs for ISB students, through the Panther Golf Academy. With unique partnerships with local golf courses, students in the Academy can not only train at the ISB Golf Center but can also visit local golf courses to play 9 holes of golf per day. 

The academy utilizes online learning and each Golf Academy member receives a lesson plan each week. There are over 165 lessons for students of all abilities with diagrams, videos, quizzes, research materials and ability tests. It’s highly interactive and students can upload the results on their golf swings and their daily drills/tasks. 

The golf center will also support ISB students in the Athletics and PE golf programs.

Becoming a Member

Besides supporting ISB's golf programs the Golf Center is also open for the general public and offers annual memberships, with special rates for ISB community members of students, parents and alumni. 

There is a Founding Member Special Offer given to those who sign up before March 31st, 2021, with the benefit of having their membership extended to June 30th, 2022.
